The Blackberry Priv is officially available for purchase in the U.S. The device functions on Android instead of the traditional Blackberry 10 OS.
Previous Blackberry owners who miss the satisfaction of typing on a traditional keyboard will be satisfied with the new device. The Priv comes with dual keyboards, meaning there is a touchscreen option as well as a traditional keyboard that slides from under the screen.
The new device measures almost 6 inches long and weighs in at 6.77-ounces, almost the same size as an iPhone 6s Plus. The larger screen makes for comfortable media viewing experiences and the device also boasts a 18-megapixel camera. The new device does not come with a fingerprint sensor, so users will actually have to type in their passcode for access (gasp).
The Blackberry Priv is compatible with Verizon or Sprint. The device can be purchased online or in-stores, unlocked for $699.
